The US Navy decided to stop flying all F/A-18s and especially the EA-18G – the electronic warfare aircraft considered the enemy of the S-400 system.
According to Navy Times, the decision to stop flying was made after an incident in the cockpit of the EA-18G aircraft injured two people.
US Naval Air Force spokeswoman Admiral Jeannie Groeneveld said two officers were injured but their lives were not affected in this incident, including a pilot and an electronic warfare officer.

The admiral added that the emergency came from the cockpit cover of the EA-18G aircraft.
Before this sudden decision, the US announced that it had found a way to destroy enemy air defenses with its EA-18G.
Boeing said that all Growler aircraft currently on the production line will be immediately installed with new hardware, while old aircraft will have additional equipment installed to meet standards.
According to Captain David Kindley, F/A-18 and EA-18G program manager of the US Navy: `This system that enhances the ability to identify targets will give crews great advantages,
According to the content of this program, all newly upgraded hardware will allow Growlers to coordinate operations against powerful enemy (air-to-air) weapon systems – which is currently becoming a popular trend.
With the NIFC-CA program, the US Navy will need at least two Growlers to operate in the air and detect targets, while operating with a high-speed data connection to each other.
These two aircraft will continue to connect with a Northrop Grumman E-2D Advanced Hawkeye to form a triangular net, which will help determine remotely, accurately, the location of the threat signal transmitter.
With these unique features, the Navy believes it will be able to create real-time target tracking and tracking capabilities that are accurate enough to fire weapons.
New technology is considered to play a very important role in the Navy’s plans, helping to provide the ability to fight in environments threatened by many advanced enemy air defense systems.
These systems include many VHF radars capable of tracking stealth aircraft, in addition to powerful, highly maneuverable air-to-air missile launchers, such as Russia’s S-400 Triumf (SA-21 Growler).
