The test injection was conducted at the Military Medical Academy, Hanoi.
The injection process includes counseling volunteers, then screening and taking samples for in-depth testing such as ultrasound, cardiopulmonary scan… When they meet the standards, they will be vaccinated.
After being vaccinated, all three people have not had any unusual reactions.
It is expected that three days later, the remaining volunteers in the 60 phase one trial will be vaccinated.

Speaking before starting the test injection, Lieutenant General Do Quyet, Director of the Military Medical Academy, emphasized: `This product is produced by Vietnamese people, for Vietnamese people.`
Currently approved vaccines in the world only cover 1/5 of the population and priority is given to developed countries.
`It’s time for Vietnam to have the right to tell the world that we can do it, we have proven it in preventing Covid-19,` Lieutenant General Quyet said.
He also reiterated that Vietnam has produced nCoV diagnostic test kits with high accuracy and efficiency.
Dr. Nguyen Ngo Quang, Deputy Director of the Department of Science, Technology and Training, Ministry of Health, acknowledged: `We still have a battle ahead. We need cooperation, not only from scientists and researchers.`
Experts also emphasized the extremely important point of ensuring the safety of test injectors, and at the same time advised people to understand how to prevent disease, personal awareness is very important, and not to rely on vaccines.
`If you think that a vaccine already exists, so you are subjectively negligent in disease prevention and do not follow the recommendations of the Ministry of Health, then the efforts of the whole industry and the whole country in recent times will not be successful,` said Dr.
Vietnam’s Covid-19 vaccine is tested on humans
Nurse injects Nanocovax vaccine to the first volunteer.
Nanocovax vaccine is Vietnam’s first Covid-19 vaccine tested on humans.
Phase two is expected to take place immediately after phase one with about 400-600 volunteers, and will continue with phase three.
Dr. Quang said that the organizer will hire an independent monitoring organization to monitor research processes to comply with the research protocol, detect symptoms early, and ensure absolute safety for patients.
In vaccine testing, the most important phase is phase one to evaluate safety with a minimum number of people, to ensure the ability to handle immediate complications if there are complications.
It is expected that after Nanogen Company’s Nanocovax vaccine, by early February 2021, Ivac Company’s vaccine will be prepared to be injected into human trials.
Vietnam also plans to import Covid-19 vaccines from abroad.
Vietnam is one of the countries recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) for its vaccine research and development system.
