The Vietnamese fishing boat was towed back to Quang Ngai after being sunk by a Chinese ship on May 26.
The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ statement fabricated that `Vietnam sent a large number of ships, frogmen and dropped many obstacles, including fishing nets`, into the waters where Beijing illegally placed the oil rig.
Reuters quoted a statement saying, `On June 7, at its peak, 63 Vietnamese ships crossed China’s fence to ram into Chinese ships a total of 1,416 times.`
This information is given without any accompanying evidence.
Also in the above statement, China said that it has contacted Vietnam `30 times at various levels` and wants to have good relations with its neighbors but that it `has principles that cannot be ignored`.
Representative of Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Le Hai Binh previously said that Vietnam has made efforts at many levels and many times to dialogue with China, but Beijing has not reciprocated this goodwill.

China’s offensive and provocative tactics in Vietnamese waters
This is not the first time Beijing has falsely accused Vietnam of attacking, since China illegally placed an oil rig on Vietnam’s continental shelf.
On June 5, Beijing continued to falsely accuse Vietnamese ships of ramming into Chinese ships more than 1,200 times and also blatantly asked Hanoi to end law enforcement activities in the area near oil rig 981.
Meanwhile, Vietnamese law enforcement vessels operating in the area where China illegally placed its drilling rig continue to use peaceful measures to force China to stop violating Vietnam’s sovereign rights and jurisdiction.
The Vietnamese delegation to the United Nations last week continued to send a letter with a diplomatic note to Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to protest against China’s maintenance of the oil rig and escort ships in its exclusive economic zone and continental shelf.
