Cho Ray Phnom Penh Hospital participates in the fight against the epidemic 6
Dr. Ton Thanh Tra, General Director of Cho Ray Phnom Penh Hospital, said on the evening of April 27 that Cambodia has just allowed private medical facilities to accept Covid-19 patients, with the following conditions:
`Many Covid-19 patients have no place to be treated, the hospital is planning to increase the number of beds,` Dr. Tra said.
In addition to the initially planned 30 rooms, the hospital will block off the second floor area, including the two departments of Ear, Nose and Throat and the old Department of Obstetrics, into a place to receive patients, with 20 rooms, one patient in each room.
According to Dr. Tra, in the context of the capital Phnom Penh and neighboring Takhmao town being blockaded, the hospital still maintains operations at about 50% capacity compared to before.
Last weekend, the hospital combined with the Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia and the Vietnamese Association in Cambodia to distribute gifts to 350 Vietnamese families in difficult circumstances during the blockade in the district on the outskirts of Phnom Penh, with 150 gifts sent.
`The hospital is working with the local government and people to overcome this epidemic. We hope everyone can return to normal life as quickly as possible,` said Dr. Tra.

Currently, Cho Ray Phnom Penh Hospital is also quarantining 24 medical staff due to contact with Covid-19 patients.
In the context of Cambodia’s Covid-19 outbreak, hospitals are strengthening their fight against the epidemic and strictly controlling patients, especially the emergency department and medical examination department.
311 hospital staff have been vaccinated with the Sinopharm, Sinovac or AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine, while 15 have not been vaccinated due to quarantine.
Cambodia has recorded a significant increase in the number of infections in the past two weeks, with the number of new cases each day ranging from 157 to 655. As of April 27, Cambodia recorded more than 11,000 positive cases.
Cho Ray Phnom Penh Hospital started construction in 2010 and has been operating since 2014, in the spirit of friendly cooperation between the two countries in the medical field.
