Domestic coaches volunteered to lead the Vietnamese team 4
After a period of not being interested in the possibility of becoming head coach of the national team, recently the paternal teachers suddenly changed their attitude.
Coach Mai Duc Chung – who recently resigned from Navibank Saigon, recently announced his readiness to coach the Vietnam national team.
Sacking Mr. Falko Goetz in December 2011, nearly a month after U23 Vietnam’s disastrous defeat at SEA Games 26, VFF announced that it would find a domestic coach for the Vietnamese team.
Mr. Chung said he has not received an official invitation from VFF.
Coach Mai Duc Chung just had a tiring season with Navibank Saigon.
Mr. Chung is currently coaching U19 Vietnam to prepare for the friendly tournament taking place in Brunei at the end of February, and is considered the number one candidate for the position of coach of the U22 Vietnam team attending the 2012 Asian Championship.
Mr. Phan Thanh Hung has more than once expressed his desire to contribute to the Vietnam team as an assistant.
It was not easy for President Hien to let coach Phan Thanh Hung join the team.
If Mr. Hung only left open the possibility of taking on the task left by Falko Goetz, coach Le Thuy Hai – before returning to Hai Phong, declared that he was ready to take the hot seat if VFF invited him with a suitable mechanism.
In addition to the above, expert Nguyen Van Vinh believes that Le Huynh Duc of SHB Da Nang and Nguyen Huu Thang of Song Lam Nghe An all have enough talent to be on the team and it is time to put your trust in them.
Information from VFF said that Mr. Mai Duc Chung and Phan Thanh Hung received the most nominations.
