Van Tran Hoan (right) always carries the national flag when going abroad to watch football.
Last week, Mr. Hoan traveled back and forth between Hai Phong and Hanoi to complete visa application procedures to Brazil, in time for the opening day of the biggest football festival on the planet, taking place from June 12 to July 13.
As one of the famous football fans, for more than 30 years he has traveled everywhere with the Hai Phong football team and the Vietnamese team.
Van Tran Hoan said that he himself did not know when he fell in love with football.
Not only does he accompany his hometown Hai Phong team and the Vietnamese team, Mr. Hoan also regularly goes abroad to watch football – especially the World Cup.
`I want to bring the image of Vietnam to all over the world, and the 2014 World Cup is such an occasion,` he happily boasted to VnExpress after completing visa application procedures at the Brazilian embassy.

Many people say Van Tran Hoan loves football to the point of going crazy.
This year, going to the 2014 World Cup, Mr. Hoan – who is the owner of a transportation business in Hai Phong – convinced his two friends, Sang `Cu Chi` and Quang Khanh, to participate in another `crazy` plan.
Because of his idol Messi, Van Tran Hoan flew to Europe five times to watch Barcelona players play.
`Going like this is very expensive, but let’s not talk about money. For me, the important thing is to live my life to the fullest with my love for football,` Hoan `flare` affirmed.
